Our Programs
Detoxification
Affordable detoxification is offered on-site to meet the individual needs of the client. Our 24 hour nursing and clinical staff are present to ensure a safe and effective medically monitored detoxification to assist the client in the recovery process. We offer buprenorphine-based medication to those clients addicted to opiates and other pain medication to suppress symptoms of withdrawal and to decrease cravings. Our goal is to bring clients throught the detoxification phase in the safest way possible.
Residential Treatment
Hanley Hall is a short-term residential program that serves men and women, 18 years and older. This is a four-week intensive program, with an average length of stay of 29 days. Persons served present with substance use disorders that are primary in nature. Clients with co-occurring disorders are welcome at Hanley Hall, providing the co-occurring disorder is secondary and stable enough to allow for full participation at this level of care. Other criteria include the physical and cognitive ability to participate actively in program activities. The program serves those meeting criteria regardless of race, color, religion, or sexual orientation.
The overall goal of Hanley Hall is to provide a residential treatment setting whereby each person served will maintain abstinence from all mind/mood altering substances, while developing the coping mechanisms necessary to improve their individual level of functioning and transition into a less restrictive environment.
The client is actively involved in the individual treatment planning process. The treatment plan contains goals and objectives that address the strengths, needs, abilities, and preferences of the person served. The plan is client directed and person centered, with regard to identifying challenges and problems. This is achieved by providing the highest quality and most effective care to clients with substance use disorders.
The clinical structure at Hanley Hall is based on therapeutic principles and techniques of cognitive-behavioral therapy. Individual therapy and psycho education groups are facilitated by members of the treatment team. Guest speakers and/or qualified professionals may also be invited to present to education groups. Methods of providing education include didactic groups, reading and writing assignments, and audio/visual materials. Topics that will be regularly addressed include the disease model of chemical dependence, identification of relapse warning signs and relapse prevention planning, family systems, co-occurring disorders, medical aspects of chemical dependence, HIV and sexually transmitted disease education, introduction to the steps and principles of 12 Step programs, development of sober social support, anger management, coping skills, communication skills, REBT (Rational emotive behavioral therapy), spiritual aspects of recovery, and development of a balanced life style.
Hanley Hall's Family Program recognizes that family participation is a vital part of the recovery process for the chemically dependent person and his/her loved ones. Family members are invited to participate in a structured program facilitated by qualified staff every Sunday at no additional cost.
At the time of discharge, clients are linked with support services within the community based upon their individual needs and preferences.
Outpatient Services
The outpatient program consists of individual counseling, group therapy, family counseling, and educational programs. Random drug testing is also part of the program.
